Principal AI Platform Engineer<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

London<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

This is a standout opportunity to join a digital\u2011first insurer that is scaling an entirely new AI function. You will be the first permanent hire into a growing division, giving you direct ownership of production AI systems, end\u2011to\u2011end agentic automation, and the technical direction of a brand\u2011new platform.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The Company<\/strong><\/p>\n

They are a tech\u2011led insurer transforming how complex home insurance is delivered. Their vision is to become the UK’s first fully AI\u2011driven insurer, supported by modern cloud infrastructure and a collaborative product\u2011focused culture.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The Role<\/strong><\/p>\n

You will play a lead role in shaping, building, and scaling their AI platform, working closely with an AI Product Manager and senior leadership. Your work will focus on making AI production\u2011ready, highly scalable, and reliable across the business.<\/p>\n

Key responsibilities include:<\/p>\n

* Designing and delivering an AI platform that supports large\u2011scale agentic automation and end\u2011to\u2011end claims journeys<\/p>\n

* Building robust RAG pipelines, LLM\u2011based systems, and deployment frameworks<\/p>\n

* Developing AI agents for claims handling, internal tooling, and customer\u2011facing chat solutions<\/p>\n

* Evolving an internal AI assistant and expanding its capabilities across teams<\/p>\n

* Working hands\u2011on across cloud infrastructure, observability, evaluation, and optimisation<\/p>\n

* Collaborating with engineering, product, and operations teams to take roadmap concepts into production<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Your Skills and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

* Strong commercial experience in AI engineering or software engineering with a focus on LLMs and production AI systems<\/p>\n

* Expertise in deploying AI models and agents at scale, including RAG, embeddings, and LLM tooling<\/p>\n

* Hands\u2011on cloud engineering experience, ideally in GCP and its AI ecosystem<\/p>\n

* Strong Python engineering ability and experience building production\u2011grade services<\/p>\n

* Experience working with vector search, data ingestion, observability, and experimentation frameworks<\/p>\n

* A STEM background or equivalent technical capability<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
